Replacing a traditional roof with a cool roof system represents an investment. But the initial cost is quickly offset by both significant energy savings and reduced maintenance requirements.

The IRR is therefore very favorable, as demonstrated by this building (see our other projects here).

Problem: Overheating in summer in a cold storage building.

Type of waterproofing: Bituminous membrane.

Description of the operation: Application of the CoolRoof solution on a 3,770 m² roof.

Instrumentation: Measurement of indoor/outdoor ambient temperature and indoor/outdoor surface temperature on buildings with and without CoolRoof. Application date: July 25, 2023. Analysis period: One year. Climate zone: H3.

Significant reduction in outdoor and indoor temperatures following the application of our CoolRoof solution. In addition to a 21% reduction in discomfort degree-hours, the CoolRoof has resulted in energy savings, financial savings, and a reduction in the building’s carbon footprint.
